MK Stalin slams Centre over evacuation of Indians from Ukraine

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin slammed the union government on the evacuation of students from Ukraine and asserted again that NEET is a stumbling block to pursuing medical education within the country and underscored growing support against it.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin slammed the union government, accusing certain BJP leaders of insensitive comments over the death of an Indian medical student in Ukraine's Kharkiv.

“Not the right time for BJP to ask why students go to small countries like Ukraine to study medicine," Stalin said.

The DMK chief also claimed that it was not the right time for propaganda.

Mentioning Naveen, the student from Karnataka who was killed in Kharkiv shelling, CM Stalin said that he is saddened by the fact that Naveen scored 97 per cent and even then was unable to clear NEET, forcing him to study in Ukraine.

“The government's comments, certain Union Ministers' interviews and the posts on social media by those supporting the government about the students who are struggling to save their lives are like poking an already bleeding wound,” said Stalin, urging PM Modi to issue a stern warning to those acting in such a manner.

CM Stalin also claimed that it is due to the fact that NEET is a stumbling block for students and snatching away medical aspirations from poor backgrounds. DMK is opposing it, he said, adding that priority should be given to scrapping NEET.
