
MK Stalin requests PM Modi for funds to restore facilities damaged in Tamil Nadu floods

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote to PM Modi, requesting him to advise the Union Ministry for Home Affairs to release funds for damages caused by the November floods.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to advise the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to release central assistance to the state for the damage caused in the November floods.
Stalin stated in his letter that Tamil Nadu witnessed unprecedented rains in the Northeast monsoon season this year, resulting in heavy flooding, inundation of habitations, crop lands, loss of life of humans and animals, besides damage to standing crops and infrastructure.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
