
Minor among 5 held for abducting, sexually assaulting woman in TN’s Virudhunagar

Five people, including a minor, were nabbed by the police for abducting a 40-year-old woman and sexually assaulting her in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar. Police are still on the lookout for two others involved in the crime.
A 40-year-old woman was abducted in a car and was sexually assaulted by 7 people in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar. Five people, including a minor, have been nabbed by the police, who are on the lookout for two more involved in the crime.
The incident happened in Aruppukottai town in Virudhunagar district when the woman was coming home from a function.
The woman was travelling in a car with her male friend when two people on a motorbike waylaid them. Another car with five men arrived soon after and all seven attacked the woman and her friend and took away their valuables, including a mobile.
They forcefully dragged the woman out of the car and abducted her. The woman was sexually assaulted by the seven men who later dropped the lady at Aruppukottai.
An eyewitness to the incident immediately informed the police and officials who came to the spot and checked the CCTV cameras in the area. They were able to identify the vehicle and the persons involved in the crime.
Police officials arrested four men and a minor and are looking out for two more people. They also retrieved the stolen gold ornaments, a phone and other items.
