Minister felicitates transferred and retired Health officials

Telangana Health Minister honors officials for contributions to public healthcare administration and infrastructure in the state.

Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, on Wednesday, felicitated senior officials from the Health Department, who were either transferred in the recent IAS reshuffle or retired from service.

The ceremony acknowledged their contributions to public healthcare administration and infrastructure.

Among those honoured were R.V. Karnan, former Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare and Commissioner of Food Safety; Bhorkhade Hemant Sahadeorao, who served as the Managing Director of the Telangana Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC); and V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, who retired on Wednesday after serving as the Director General of the Drugs Control Administration (DCA).

The Minister lauded the officers for their commitment and praised their efforts in strengthening the public health system. “Serving so many people through the Health department is no easy task. The officers have done incredible work this past year, particularly in strengthening public confidence in government hospitals,” he said.

Mr. Kamalasan Reddy was recognised for his crackdown on counterfeit medicines and his proactive enforcement approach. Credited with leading several high-impact inspections, he was described as a national role model in drug regulation, having served in various key roles over his career.

Mr. Karnan was commended for his role in enhancing Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) services across Telangana. Under his leadership, several dialysis centres and clinical facilities were set up, helping the State get the position of a national front-runner in NCD screening.

Although Mr. Hemant Sahadeorao held his post for just 10 months, the Minister noted his significant contribution in establishing 21 Central Drug Stores, which played a critical role in strengthening medical logistics and supply chain.
