A new US study indicates that men are at higher risk of severe Covid-19 infection and death. Read on to know what researchers have found in their study.
Several studies in the past have claimed the men were at a higher risk of contracting Covid-19 and die due to the infection as compared to women. Supporting the previous findings, a recent study, conducted by researchers from the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri, indicate that low testosterone levels might be responsible for "increased disease severity" among males. The study was published in the journal JAMA Network Open on Tuesday. In the study, researchers established a link between the severity of Covid-19 disease and low levels of testosterone in men.
