Meghalaya: Several organisations hold 'knife surrender' rally demanding justice for former HNLC leader

Several organizations and locals of Mawlai area in Meghalaya’s Shillong held a 'knife surrender' rally to demand justice for the former HNLC leader Cheristerfield Thangkhiew, who was killed in police retaliatory firing.
Almost a month after the controversial death of former Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) General Secretary Cheristerfield Thangkhiew, the residents of Mawlai area in Meghalaya’s capital city Shillong carried out a rally demanding justice for the former HNLC leader. Ka Sur Ki Nong Mawlai-- an umbrella body of 11 organisations on Monday held a ‘knife surrender rally’ in Mawlai area as a mark of protest against the "state government’s adamant attitude towards suspending the police personnel in connection with the alleged killing of the former militant on August 13.More Related News
