A massive fire in Bachupally gutted 15 furniture sheds, no casualties or injuries were reported.
A massive fire broke out in a furniture shop housed in a temporary shed at Pragathi Nagar in Bachupally, Hyderabad, on Tuesday (March 3, 2026) night, quickly spreading to nearly 15 adjacent furniture sheds and reducing them to ashes. No casualties or injuries were reported.
According to Kukatpally Station House Officer, T. Jagan Mohan, the distress call was received around 11 p.m., following which six fire tenders were rushed to the spot. A total of six teams comprising 36 firefighters battled the flames in an operation that lasted nearly nine hours, bringing the blaze under control by 8 a.m.
Although the fire has now been completely doused, final-stage firefighting operations were still under way at the time of the reporting, to ensure that no embers reignite.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire originated in one of the temporary sheds due to a short circuit. The flames spread rapidly to neighbouring structures as large quantities of inflammable materials were stored inside. The intensity of the blaze completely gutted the sheds, destroying furniture, raw materials and finished products.
As the sheds were located in an open area, no evacuations or rescue operations were required. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
