Mary Trump Exposes Uncle’s ‘Grotesque Exploitation’ Of Religion With Some Family History

The president's niece flagged the "huge problem" she has with some of his latest proclamations.
Mary Trump on Thursday accused her uncle, President Donald Trump, of invoking “a God he does not believe in” during his recent address following U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
She slammed it as nothing more than a hypocritical, political ploy.
In the latest edition of her Substack newsletter “The Good In Us,” the psychologist and longtime critic of the president wrote that her family’s relationship with religion was only ever transactional:
“Starting with my grandfather, the only thing that mattered, the only thing they believed in was money. God did not enter into the equation and never once did I see any sincere professions of faith in God.”
Mary Trump argued that Donald Trump and his allies “use religion to justify everything they do, no matter how diabolical,” calling it “cynical,” “hypocritical,” and “a grotesque exploitation of the sincere faith of millions of Americans.”
