The dead body of a 62-year-old man stuffed inside a plastic bag was found near Nerkundram, Chinmaya Nagar in Chennai.
The dead body of a 62-year-old man stuffed inside a plastic bag was found near Nerkundram, Chinmaya Nagar in Chennai on Saturday morning. It is suspected that the man was murdered, and later his body was dumped on the spot.
The body was first discovered by the sanitation workers who had reached the spot for work this morning. They noticed the plastic bag and informed the police control room.
Upon receiving the information, the Virugambakkam police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Chennai-based businessman, Baskaran (62). Baskaran's phone was switched off last night and he was unreachable. His family is said to have filed a complaint with the police.
The City Corporation's sanitation workers found the plastic bag this morning and immediately alerted the police control room.
The man's hands and feet were tied and his mouth was stuffed with cloth. Baskaran's car was also found near the spot where his body was dumped.
While the body has been sent for post-mortem, police are scanning CCTV footage and investigating the motive behind this murder. 6 special teams have been formed by the TN police to nab the murderers.
