
Man murders friend over Rs 1,500; smashes head with stone, dumps body in drain

A dispute over Rs 1,500 spiralled into a brutal killing in Noida on Thursday, where a man murdered his friend by smashing his head with a stone and dumping his body into a roadside drain.
Police said the victim, Rahul (35), who lived on a footpath, had an argument with Ravindra, a native of Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand, at around 9 am.
The quarrel, reportedly over a small cash transaction of Rs 1,500, quickly escalated into violence.
During the scuffle, Ravindra allegedly struck Rahul on the head with a stone, leaving him critically injured. He then pushed the unconscious man into a nearby drain.
Rahul died on the spot due to severe head injuries and drowning, police said.
Passers-by spotted the body and alerted authorities. Police teams and forensic experts reached the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem after completing legal formalities.
