Man kills estranged wife’s live-in partner in Delhi, arrested

A man was arrested after he stabbed his estranged wife's live-in partner to death in a fit of rage.
The Delhi Police arrested a man for allegedly stabbing to death his estranged wife's live-in partner on June 9. The police also recovered the murder weapon.
The incident was reported on June 9 at Sadar Bazar police station. When the police reached the spot, locals told them that the victim had been rushed to Lady Hardinge Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The accused's wife, Reena (name changed), who is an eyewitness in the case, said in her statement that she had a dispute with her husband Robin 4-5 months ago. Since then, she has been staying with her live-in partner, Kunal. She also alleged that her husband had been a notorious criminal in Paharganj.
According to her statement, the incident took place around midnight, when she was going to her home with Kunal. Her husband Robin suddenly appeared from behind and stabbed Kunal several times and escaped.
Sadar Bazar SHO Kanhaiya Lal said, "After the incident, secret informers were deputed. Technical surveillance was mounted while CCTV footage of the crime spot, besides the route taken by the accused person, was checked. However, the accused disposed of his mobile and was constantly on the move."
The SHO added, "Several Raids were conducted at the hideouts of the accused in Anand Parbat, Sarai Rohilla, Chanchal Park, Raghubir Nagar, Bahadurgarh, Nangloi, etc, but no clue was obtained."
He said, "Finally, on June 10, we got a tip-off that he was present near Tis Hazari Court. Accordingly, a raid was conducted and he was nabbed. The weapon of offence and the clothes worn by him have been recovered. The scooty used in the offence has also been recovered."
