A 42-year-old man was arrested with 4 kilograms of dry ganja during a vehicle checking conducted by Mailardevpally police on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The accused was identified as Jay Krishna Mahajan alias Guru, a labourer, residing in Yakutpura and a native of Kolkata in West Bengal.

According to the police, at around 10 a.m., officers were conducting vehicle inspections at the Durga Nagar junction when they intercepted the accused on a motorcycle. Following checks, officers seized four kilograms of dry ganja, two mobile phones, ₹85,500 in cash and the motorcycle used for transportation.

During interrogation, he told police that he had been in Hyderabad for the past 25 years and had recently turned to selling ganja after being unable to find regular work. He procured and supplied ganja to customers for money and had been involved in the trade for the past seven months. Police said he was transporting the contraband on his motorcycle to deliver to a customer when he was apprehended.
