Customs officials at the Trichy airport apprehended a man carrying gold paste worth Rs 15 lakh concealed in custom-made underwear.
Officials caught a passenger traveling from Singapore to Trichy via an Indigo aircraft based on a tip-off.
At first, the officials couldn’t find any gold, but when they checked his underwear, a packet containing a paste was extracted.

The packet was concealed between two layers of cloth which were stitched together. The underwear was ripped off and the paste was then treated with chemicals and 24 karat gold weighing 301 gm worth Rs 15.32 lakh was extracted. Officials said a further investigation was underway.
