Man held for threatening, raping 15-year-old girl at Maharashtra's Ulhasnagar railway station

A man was arrested on Saturday for threatening a 15-year-old girl with a hammer and then raping her at an isolated place in Maharashtra's Ulhasnagar railway station on Friday night.

The teen victim, who was raped in Maharashtra's Ulhasnagar railway station area on Friday and held captive till Saturday morning, had to run from pillar to post just to register a case in the matter. Officials confirmed that at least two police stations refused to register her complaint citing jurisdiction issues. On Friday night, a 15-year-old girl was raped at Ulhasnagar station premises by one Shrikant Gaikwad alias dada, who was arrested on Saturday evening. The accused is a resident of Ulhasnagar and has several cases registered under him in Thane.
