Makeup artist opens up about transformation of Kisbu, the Kerala balloon seller who became an overnight Internet sensation

The nomad girl who came into the limelight from the thousands of faces attending the festival is not a result of layers and layers of make-up but inborn beauty, according to Remya.

Kisbu, a balloon seller in Kerala, became an overnight sensation after pictures of her from a photoshoot received an overwhelming response. The girl, who belongs to a Rajasthani family, was spotted by a wedding photographer, Arjun Krishnan, at the Andalur Kavu festival in Kerala. Now, the makeup artist who was responsible for her epic transformation talked about the whole process. The artist who goes by the name Remya Prajul talked about how she transformed Kisbu for the photoshoot.

The nomad girl who came into the limelight from among the thousands of faces attending the festival is not a result of layers and layers of makeup but inborn beauty, according to Remya. The idea stuck when the make-up-less photo of Kisbu, selling balloons at Andalur Kavu caught her eye. Then it was just the matter of convincing Kisbu’s family to let them do the makeover.

The makeup, according to the artist, began at 4 AM. With the pedicure, manicure and facials, there were many steps before she got ready for the camera. To make Kisbu comfortable, Remya explained each step and the idea behind it to her. And as we know it, the photographs ended up breaking the internet.

Kisbu's parents only have one dream, according to Remya. They want her to get educated and not spend her life selling things like them. They are hopeful that this exposure will help the girl in her education.
