
Major reshuffle in UP medical department, 51 CMOs transferred

The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday issued an order to transfer 51 chief medical officers in the state. New CMOs have been appointed in 27 districts.
In a major rejig, the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday transferred 51 chief medical officers, including state capital Lucknow's CMO Dr Sanjay Bhatnagar. In an official order, the state government has posted new CMOs in 27 districts. Dr Sanjay Bhatnagar, who was till now the CMO of Lucknow, was removed within a year of his posting. He will be replaced by Dr Manoj Agarwal.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
