Mahindra EV SUVs cross 50,000 sales milestone in just one year
India Today
Mahindra and Mahindra has crossed 50,000 EV SUV sales in just a year, highlighting strong demand for its born-electric lineup and accelerating its presence in the electric vehicle market.
Mahindra and Mahindra has achieved a significant milestone in its electric mobility journey, with cumulative sales of its born-electric SUV range surpassing 50,000 units in India within just a year of launch.
The company’s dedicated EV lineup comprising the XEV 9e, XEV 9S and BE 6 has witnessed rapid adoption since deliveries began in March 2025. Built on the INGLO skateboard platform, these models have collectively driven Mahindra’s strong push into the electric SUV space.
What makes this achievement notable is the pace of growth. The portfolio had already crossed 30,000 units within the first seven months and went on to breach 41,000 units in under 10 months. The latest jump to 50,000 units reflects sustained demand, further supported by festive buying trends and expanding product offerings.
Each model in the lineup caters to a distinct audience. The BE 6 serves as the entry point, focusing on a sporty driving experience, while the XEV 9e targets premium buyers with its coupe-SUV styling and feature-rich cabin. The recently introduced XEV 9S, with its three-row configuration, has broadened the appeal of the range by addressing family-oriented buyers seeking space and practicality in an EV.
Mahindra has also diversified battery options across the lineup, offering configurations ranging from 59kWh to 79kWh, along with a 70kWh pack on the XEV 9S. This flexibility allows customers to choose based on performance needs and driving range, with claimed figures exceeding 500 km in multiple variants.
The strong sales momentum highlights a broader shift in consumer behaviour, with electric SUVs increasingly being adopted as primary vehicles rather than secondary city cars. High usage patterns, improving charging infrastructure and growing confidence in EV technology have all contributed to this trend.
