Satark, a Pune-based organisation, which includes vigilant meteorologists, has undertaken an innovative initiative to make villagers in the hilly valleys of western Maharashtra self-aware about weather conditions, especially during the rainy season. The last 15 days of July saw heavy rains in western Maharashtra, with the Konkan region being the worst hit. Continuous showers led to massive floods in the Chiplun-Khed area of Ratnagiri, Mahad area of Raigad, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and some areas of the Pune district.More Related News
