
Maharashtra: Former BJP corporator accused of molesting female social worker; case filed

A female social worker filed a case against a former BJP corporator of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) in Maharashtra for allegedly molesting her for a period of two years.
A case was registered on Wednesday against a former BJP corporator of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) in Maharashtra, named Sandeep Gaikar, for allegedly molesting a female social worker. The BJP leader has been accused of sending obscene messages and threatening the woman on social media.
The case against Sandeep Gaikar, ex-standing committee president of KDMC, was filed under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty), 354-D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), among others, and relevant sections of the IT Act at the Bazarpeth police station in Maharashtra.
