Centre on Tuesday announced that Covid-19 vaccine will be made available for everyone above 45 years from April 1 amid a surge in new cases with the doubling time having sharply reduced since the start of this month.
The Maharashtra government on Tuesday welcomed Centre's decision of allowing vaccination of all people above 45 years of age from April 1. In a recent VC with Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi, CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray had requested to open up COVID vaccination for all those over 45 years of age. The Union Cabinet has today decided to open it up for citizens over 45 years, for which the Hon’ble CM has thanked them. Centre on Tuesday announced that Covid-19 vaccine will be made available for everyone above 45 years from April 1 amid a surge in new cases with the doubling time having sharply reduced since the start of this month. Thanking the central government for its decision, the office of the chief minister of Maharashtra said that in a recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Uddhav Thackeray had made this particular demand. The chief minister thanked the Union government for taking a decision in this regard.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
