A retired teacher was mauled to death by her son's pet pit bull dog in the Kaiserbagh area of Lucknow on Tuesday morning.
An 82-year-old retired teacher was mauled to death by her son's pet pit bull dog in the Kaiserbagh area of Lucknow on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sushila Tripathi. Her son, Amit, a gym trainer, owned two pet dogs - a pit bull and a labrador. The dog which attacked the woman, named Brownie, was brought home three years ago. The family used to live in the Bengali Tola area of Kaiserbagh.
The incident took place at around 6 am when the woman was alone in the house. Later, her son found her lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the Balrampur hospital where she succumbed due to excessive loss of blood.
As per the post-mortem report, a total of 12 deep wounds were found on Sushila's body.
According to the neighbours, "At around 6 am, they heard dogs barking and Sushila crying out for help when she was attacked. We rushed to their house but it was locked from the inside. When the woman's son reached the house, he opened the door and found the victim severely injured."
