An 18-year-old woman was held by the Mumbai Police on Tuesday for being the prime suspect behind the Bulli Bai controversy in which the photos of several Muslim women were posted on an app without their consent to conduct a virtual 'auction'. Another 21-year-old engineering student was also arrested as the co-accused in the case. The controversy stirred massive outrage on the internet, and came just six months after the 'Sulli deals' which was similar to what happened now and targeted Muslim women.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
