
Lockdown-like Covid curbs in Bengal; malls, restaurants, gyms shut till further orders

To check the spiralling number of Covid-19 cases, the West Bengal government has ordered the closure of all shopping complexes/malls, beauty parlours, cinema halls, restaurants and gyms till further orders.
The West Bengal government, in an order on Friday, ordered the closure of all shopping complexes/malls, beauty parlours, cinema halls, restaurants, bars, sports complexes, gyms, spas and swimming pools in light of the Covid-19 situation. All social and cultural gatherings have been prohibited in the state. Only markets will be allowed to operate between 7 am and 10 am, and 3 pm and 5 pm in West Bengal.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
