Dead leopard found in Kanpur revealed to have died from head injury
A leopard was found dead in Kanpur on Friday morning. The leaopard's body was found in the fields of Kanpur's New Chauk Pratappur village along a highway. Locals discovered the body and informed the police, following which officials from the forest department reached the spot.
The officials sent the leopard's body for autopsy. The District Forest Officer (DFO) of Kanpur said, "The carcass of the four-five year old male leopard was sent for a post-mortem examination, which suggests that it died due to a head injury after being hit by a vehicle".As per officials, the leopard was hit by a vehicle on the highway that lies adjacent to the field. After suffering a head injury the leopard likely walked for a while to the field before succumbing to its death.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
