Lake water turns pink in Gujarat, villagers call it ‘miracle’

After a pond in Banas Kantha district of Gujarat turned pink, villagers said that it was a miracle.
A pond near the Suigam village of Banas Kantha district in Gujarat has now turned pink, raising the concerns of environmentalists.
The water of the pond Koreti, located near the Indo-Pakistan border, suddenly turned pink, leaving villagers in shock.
As the news spread, people gathered in large numbers to see the pond water. The pond contains rain water which is used by the people of the village throughout the year. The villagers believe it to be a miracle of Mahadev's temple that came nearby.
The local administration reached the site for investigation and had sent water sample to a lab for testing.
According to Tehsil Development Officer KA Bhatia, “When we got information about the water turning pink, we immediately sent a team here for investigation. A water sample has been taken. Along with this, people have been told that at present this water should not be used for any reason”.
“Villagers believe this is a miracle, but experts believe that the gutter water entered the village pond, it has caused a chemical reaction and the water has turned pink.”
