As 32 MLAs of the ruling UPA coalition in Jharkhand arrived at the Mayfair resort in Nava Raipur amid the ongoing political crisis, Chhattisgarh's Mayfair resort is back in the news for the same old reason, resort politics. The development comes as the fate of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren hangs in the balance as he waits for the governor to announce his decision in the office of profit case.
The Bhupesh Baghel-led government in Chhattisgarh has often hosted such events where they have laid carpets for MLAs from different states who indulge in resort politics. The spillover effect of Jharkhand politicking has consumed the staff of Mayfair resort as a delegation comprising 32 Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress MLAs and state cabinet ministers landed in Raipur via a special Indigo flight on Tuesday.
