Kolkata: One arrested in Garden Reach rape case

The accused, who was arrested by the Kolkata Police on Thursday afternoon in the Garden Reach rape case, was known to the survivor.

A person was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman at her apartment in Kolkata's Garden Reach area. The accused, identified as Asgar Shah, also looted Rs 15 lakh. An investigation has revealed that the accused and the woman were in a relationship for the past two years. However, the woman's parents did not approve of their friendship.
