Sounding the poll bugle in Andhra Pradesh, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy while addressing a massive rally in Ongole on Saturday.
"A sea of people came to Mahanadu today. Jagan will go mad at this. He will not sleep tonight. His government has lost the trust of the people. Our Mahanadu meeting is full and their ministers’ bus yatra is empty,” said Naidu at the TDP's annual conclave Mahanadu.
According to the party, more than 3 lakh TDP supporters had gathered at the public meeting on the concluding day of its two-day conclave, the first Mahanadu that the TDP has organised as a public event after a gap of three years.

In his closing speech, Naidu asserted that the ruling YSRCP would lose should the midterm elections be held at that very moment, as the people are eager to "send YS Jagan Reddy home". He flayed the government over soaring inflation and stalled infrastructure and development projects.
“The current bills doubled in May when compared to April. Prices of tomato and chicken are skyrocketing at Rs 120 and Rs 320 respectively. The sand rate went up from Rs 600 per tractor during the TDP rule to Rs 6,000 under YSRCP. No wonder tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, Andhra Pradesh will follow in the footsteps of Sri Lanka," said Naidu, referring to the economic meltdown in the island nation.
In a warning to Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said: "Khabardaar (be careful). Every Telugu Desam activist is an heir to the NTR legacy. They will fight till the end for self-respect, for their state. NTR removed meters on agricultural motors. Jagan is fixing meters again. Farmers should fight against this injustice."
