This comes after two Congress MLAs moved court over the steep pricing of Covid tests. On Thursday evening, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja announced that the RT-PCR test rate would be reduced, but no order has been issued so far. As a result, private labs are not ready yet to change the old rates. The private labs in Kerala are of the view that the old rates would be changed only if an official order is issued. As confusion prevailed, customers engaged in arguments with private lab authorities across Kerala over the past few days.
