Kerala Police registered a case against three doctors in Palakkad for causing death by negligence. A newborn baby and a 25-year-old mother died on Monday. The deceased’s relatives alleged that the doctors had delayed the delivery, which lead to the two deaths.
Kerala Police registered a case against three doctors of a private hospital near Palakkad on Monday, July 4, after it was alleged that their medical negligence led to the death of a 23-year-old woman and her newborn.
The woman, 25-year-old Aishwarya, was pregnant and was admitted to the hospital for delivery. The woman’s family, stating that doctors had delayed the delivery, began protesting outside the hospital and demanding the arrest of the doctors.The relatives refused to hand over the deceased’s body for post-mortem examination. Soon, senior police officials and revenue authorities reached the spot and pacified the protesting relatives by assuring them that stringent action would be taken if lapses were found in the post-mortem.
The doctors were booked under Section 304(a) (Causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
