Kerala government will meet today to review Covid situation

CM Pinarayi Vijayan will chair a meeting to discuss the Covid situation in Kerala. On Sunday, Kerala reported 51,570 new cases of Covid-19. Relaxations are unlikely while stricter restrictions are likely in some districts in Kerala.
The state government will review the Covid situation in the state on Monday. The meeting will be presided over by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. While relaxations are unlikely, stricter restrictions are likely in some districts.
On Sunday, the state reported 51,570 new cases with a test positivity rate of 50%. The daily tally has been around 50,000 for the past week, which in itself is alarming.
The number of active patients in the state is 3,54,595. Among them, only 3.4% have been admitted in various hospitals. The districts may see some reclassification and shuffling based on current case rate. Currently, Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Kollam are in Category C, where severe restrictions are imposed.
