Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday accused the BJP of inflicting communal tensions in states that are going to polls in coming months. KCR claimed that incidents of communal clashes that occurred during Ram Navami celebrations will be used by the BJP to gain political mileage.
KCR said, "Why did it [clashes] happen on Ram Navami? They threw stones in Gujarat and Karnataka. Wherever there is an election, they [BJP] do drama. They do tricks to gain political mileage. It is unfortunate."
Speaking on communal tensions in Karnataka, KCR said that in Bengaluru there is a ban on hijab, row over halal food and orders not to purchase from Muslim-owned shops.
"It will take a century to gain everything back, which is unwanted, undesirable," said KCR adding that such a situation will lead to chaos. He vowed to step up efforts to counter the BJP.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
