The White House press secretary's spin was volleyed back hard by critics.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt drew ridicule online after posting a video of President Donald Trump signing hats and tossing them into the crowd at the U.S. Open men’s final on Sunday.
Leavitt shared the footage on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: “The People’s President and the coolest boss ever. Signing hats for fans at the #USOpen.”
The clip quickly went viral with Trump’s MAGA supporters immediately touting it as undeniable proof of his popularity.
But critics pointed out that Trump was repeatedly booed during his appearance at the tennis tournament, including during the national anthem when his image flashed on the Jumbotron.
