Karnataka govt considering common entrance test for B.Sc admission

Registration for CET begins on July 15
The State government is mulling over making the Common Entrance Test (CET) - as an admission test for entrance into undergraduate science programmes. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister C.N. Ashwathanarayana said that if implemented, it would come into effect from the coming academic year. He said that CET was scheduled to be held on August 28 and 29 and would be held over a two day period. The registrations for the examination will be open from June 15. Dr Ashwathanarayana said that they had decided not to consider the PU marks for agriculture science and pharmacy courses.More Related News
Around 440 MBBS graduates of 2021 are not required to undergo one year of compulsory rural service as per the bond signed by them while joining the medical course through government-quota seats in 2015 as the High Court of Karnataka has said the law, enacted in 2012 for mandatory rural service, remained unenforced for 10 years as it was published in the official gazette only in July 2022.
