
Karnataka Congress to hold march for Mekedatu reservoir project

Karnataka Congress to hold a 10-day march for the implementation of the Mekedatu reservoir project. The march is scheduled to be held from January 9.
The Karnataka Congress is set to organise a march from Mekedatu to Bengaluru covering a distance of 100 km to speed up the implementation of the Mekedatu reservoir project across the Cauvery river.
Thousands of Congress workers are expected to join the march scheduled to be held from January 9.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
