Karnataka MLA KS Eshwarappa has filed a complaint after receiving a threat letter saying that his tongue will be cut off if he calls Tipu Sultan, a "Muslim gunda" once again.
"You said Muslim gundas. Tipu Sultan is our freedom fighter. You called him Muslim gundas. Shame on you. Your tongue will be chopped. Be careful," the threat letter in Kannada read.
The Karnataka BJP leader's remarks came amid the recent row in Shivamogga over Savarkar posters.

On Tuesday, Eshwarappa accused minorities of sparking communal tension in Shivamogga.
"I want to tell elders of the Muslim community, I'm not saying all Muslims are gundas. The elderly of the Muslim community have made efforts for peace in the past, I want to tell them to advise the youth who are indulging in guandism, if not the government will act and they should be ready to face it," he said.
