‘Karathey Babu’: Ravi Mohan plays a politician in ‘Dada’ director’s next

Ravi Mohan’s film with ‘Dada’ director Ganesh K Babu is titled ‘Karathey Babu’ and stars Daudee S Jiwal, Shakthi Vasudevan, KS Ravi Kumar, Nasser, VTV Ganesh
We had previously reported that Ravi Mohan is teaming up with Dada director Ganesh K Babu for the actor’s 34th film. The film went on floors in December last year.
It’s now known that the film is titled Karathey Babu. The makers unveiled the title with a title reveal teaser. The film also stars Daudee S Jiwal, Shakthi Vasudevan, KS Ravi Kumar, Nasser, VTV Ganesh.
The title reveal introduces us to politician Shanmuga Babu, played by Ravi Mohan, who, retaliating to the opposition leader’s comment on the importance of one’s original name, reveals his to be Karathey Babu which was bestowed upon him 17 years ago by the people of RK Nagar.
The rest of the film’s cast includes Subramaniam Siva, Kavithalayaa Krishnan, Pradeep Antony, Raja Rani Pandian, Sandeep Raj, Knife Naren, Sindhupriya, Ajith Gosh, Aravindh, Kalki Raja, Sri Dhanya, Anandhi, Ilan, Sam Anderson, Vetrivel, Nandhini Senthamizh.
Director Ganesh K Babu has written the film along with Bakkiyam Sankar and director Rathna Kumar. The technical team of Karathey Babu comprises of musician Sam CS along with Ganesh’s Dada technicians, cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K and editor Kathiresh Alagesan. Sundar Arumugam of Screen Scene Media, the banner behind films like Dharala Prabhu and Saani Kaayidham, as well as Ravi’s Agilan and Brother, is bankrolling the film.
