Ye defends wife Bianca Censori's revealing outfit at Grammys, sparking controversy and potential backlash for upcoming concerts in Japan.
Kanye West, now known as Ye, has responded to the controversy surrounding his wife Bianca Censori’s revealing outfit at the 67th Grammy Awards. Following widespread criticism and reports that the couple was escorted out of the event, Ye took to social media to defend Censori, declaring her the “most Googled person on the planet.”
Censori arrived at the Grammys in a black fur coat, only to remove it before walking the red carpet, revealing a sheer, see-through mini dress that left little to the imagination. The bold fashion choice sparked debate, with some questioning whether it violated California’s indecent exposure laws. However, The Hollywood Reporter has since confirmed that the Los Angeles Police Department is not pursuing any legal action against her.
Ye, who was nominated for Best Rap Song for Carnival, shared his thoughts on Instagram, stating, “We beat the Grammys.” He later posted Google Analytics screenshots to support his claim about Censori’s online popularity, though he deleted the post shortly afterward.
Meanwhile, the fallout from their Grammys appearance has reportedly put Ye’s upcoming concerts in Japan in jeopardy. According to Page Six, Ye was set to perform two shows at Tokyo Dome in May, but investors are reconsidering their $20 million backing due to the backlash. Japan is currently undergoing a cultural shift regarding women’s rights, and local sources described the couple’s red carpet stunt as “creepy beyond belief.”
