Sandalwood actor Mayur Patel was booked for drunken driving and negligent driving after allegedly causing a late-night multiple-vehicle accident on HAL Airport Road in Bengaluru.
The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on January 28 when Patel, who was at the wheel, allegedly rammed into a car that had halted at the traffic signal, near the Command Hospital, from behind. The impact triggered further collision involving four vehicles.
According to the police, two other cars were damaged in the accident.
Patel was allegedly speeding at the time of the accident.
Passers-by alerted the police control room, following which Halasuru Traffic Police rushed to the spot and took Patel to the police station.
Police made him undergo a test, the result was found to be positive, confirming that he was under the influence of alcohol.
