Actor Kamal Haasan has called for severe punishment for the culprits in the Virudhunagar sexual assault case.
Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan on Wednesday demanded strict action against the culprits in Virudhunagar sexual assault case. As many as eight people, including a DMK functionary and three minors, allegedly sexually assaulted a Dalit woman in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar repeatedly for six months.
Taking to Twitter, Kamal Haasan wrote, "Unable to even think of what had happened to the woman in Virudhunagar. Severe punishment should be ensured for the culprits. Necessary steps should be taken to make women understand that what has happened to them is harm and not a shame."
