
Kadapa police arrest stalker who ‘stabbed girl’

26-year-old man arrested for brutally stabbing 18-year-old girl 13 times in Kadapa; victim in critical condition.
A 26-year-old man, who allegedly broke into the house of an 18-year-old girl and brutally stabbed her 13 times on Saturday, was arrested by the Kadapa police on Monday.
Pulivendula DSP, R.K. Valley CI and Vemula Police Station SI formed as teams to search the accused and traced him within 24 hours of the commission of crime.
Addressing the media, Kadapa incharge SP V. Vidyasagar Naidu said, “The accused has been identified as Kuppalapalli Kullayappa of SC Colony at Kothapalli village of Vemula mandal. He has allegedly been pestering the victim residing in the same area in the name of love. She has rejected his proposal.”
“Kullayappa has allegedly developed a grudge against the girl and decided to eliminate her. When her parents went out on Saturday, he allegedly forcibly opened the door of the house, attacked her brutally with a knife and ran away. However, the police have caught him while he is trying to escape to Hyderabad,” the SP said.
Immediately after the incident, the girl’s father took her to Pulivendula Government Hospital and from there she was shifted to E. C. Gangi Reddy Hospital at Islampuram, Pulivendula. Later, she was admitted in Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati, where she is currently undergoing treatment. According to the doctors, her condition was very critical.
