Delhi's Tis Hazari Court on Saturday adjourned the hearing on a plea against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai over the controversial poster of her documentary film. The court will now hear the matter on August 29.
The hearing was postponed as the concerned judge was on leave.
During the last hearing, the court had issued a summons to filmmaker Leena Manimekalai and others. The petitioner has sought legal action against the filmmaker.
On July 2, director Leena Manimekalai became a subject of online flak after she dropped a poster of her documentary, 'Kaali'. The poster depicts a woman dressed in the costume of Goddess Kali.
She is seen smoking a cigarette in the photo. Along with her usual accoutrements of trishul (trident), and sickle, the actor playing the goddess is shown wielding the LGBTQ+ community's pride flag.
