Jinnah divided nation in past, BJP wants to rule by creating divisions, says Mehbooba Mufti

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti slammed the BJP and said that while Jinnah divided the nation in the past, the present regime wants to rule by creating divisions.
In a blistering attack on the BJP, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said the ruling party has “nefarious designs” to divide the country along religious lines.
Praising former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, Mufti said his vision steered India on the path of development and prosperity, unlike the current regime which has only one agenda -- to rule by creating divisions.
“Jinnah divided this country in the past, but today every attempt is being made to divide the country once again on communal lines. These people (BJP) want another division,” the PDP chief said at a party meeting in Jammu’s RS Pura town on Sunday.
Jammu has borne the brunt due to the scrapping of special status under Article 370, and the development process has come to a standstill, she alleged. Moreover, she claimed the BJP’s "paid agents" are holding the party flag in Kashmir.

Mufti stated that Mahatma Gandhi was killed by Nathu Ram Godse but now the Father of the Nation’s ideology is being “targeted” by hundreds and thousands of Godse’s followers.
She asserted that the people would have to stand up, unite and take on communal and fascist forces.
