Jhanvi Kukreja murder case: Bail plea of one accused rejected

Mumbai Sessions court on Monday rejected the interim bail plea of accused Diya Padalkar, who has been arrested for allegedly killing her friend Jhanvi Kukreja.

Mumbai Sessions court on Monday rejected the interim bail plea of accused Diya Padalkar, who has been arrested for allegedly killing her friend Jhanvi Kukreja. The detailed order in the case will be available soon. Padalkar had claimed innocence and was seeking relief to be out of prison where she is lodged right now, on the ground that she had to study and give exams. However, her plea was vehemently opposed by special public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat as well as advocate Rizwan Merchant appearing for Kukreja family. Jhanvi Kukreja, the 19-year-old victim, was found dead at a residential building in suburban Khar in the early hours of January 1, after she attended a terrace party on New Year's Eve.
