The Democratic strategist predicted the "reform" that could take place following the presidential election.
Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville has predicted that Democrats will take the White House, the Senate and the House in the 2028 elections.
Carville — in remarks on his “Politics War Room” podcast with Al Hunt — said the Democratic president elected that year will announce a “special transition advisory committee” to “reform” the Supreme Court, adding that the body will recommend the number of seats on the court increases from nine to 13.
“I would bet a lot of money that that’s what’s going to happen. A lot!” said Carville, who notably served as a lead strategist on Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign.
Carville has previously suggested that Democrats should expand the court in an effort to “save democracy” should the party take the White House in 2028.
He once slammed the notion that SCOTUS was a “legit institution” during an MSNBC appearance in March 2024, declaring that the court has done “whatever it takes to advance theocracy or corporate power.”
