
Jalandhar: Two killed, three injured after roof of house collapsed due to heavy storm

Two people were killed and three injured after the roof of their house collapsed due to a heavy storm in Jalandhar.
Strong wind and thunderstorms raged across Punjab late on Monday night, killing two members of a family at Dhina village in Jalandhar. Three people were also injured in the incident.
The incident took place when a newly built roof of the house collapsed on the family sleeping inside due to a heavy thunderstorm.
ACP Ravinder Singh said that he rushed to the spot immediately after getting information. “Action is being taken in the case,” he said.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
