Rishab Shetty begins shooting for "Jai Hanuman," a mythological epic, launched with a traditional ceremony in Karnataka.
The upcoming mythological film Jai Hanuman, starring Rishab Shetty in the role of Lord Hanuman, has officially gone on floors. The project was launched with a traditional puja held at Anjanadri Betta in Karnataka, a site widely regarded as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
The film is directed by Prasanth Varma and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, in collaboration with Bhushan Kumar and Shiv Chanana of T-Series. The launch ceremony was attended by Rishab Shetty, his wife Pragathi, director Prasanth Varma and actor Teja Sajja, who previously headlined Hanu-Man.
Jai Hanuman marks Rishab Shetty’s first full-fledged mythological role following his National Award-winning performance in Kantara. The film is positioned as a large-scale pan-India project and is being mounted with high production values and advanced visual effects. Music for the film will be composed by Gowra Hari.

The project serves as a follow-up to Hanu-Man, though the narrative shifts focus. While Hanu-Man centred on a superhero inspired by the deity, Jai Hanuman will directly chronicle the story of Lord Hanuman, portrayed by Shetty. The film is part of the expanding Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
Earlier speculation suggested that Teja Sajja had exited the project, but the actor had denied those reports, clarifying that he remains associated with the cinematic universe. His presence at the launch ceremony further put those rumours to rest.
