Many districts of J&K plunge into darkness after power department engineers went on strike yesterday over the government's plan to privatise the power sector. The J&K administration this evening held talks with the representatives of engineers who went on strike.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
