After senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda met Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kumari Selja lodged a complaint with the AICC. She said that a show cause notice should be issued to Bhupinder Hooda.

Congress Working Committee member Kumari Selja has lodged a complaint with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge against senior Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda for meeting Ghulam Nabi Azad. Kumari Selja, former Congress chief of Haryana, wrote a letter to AICC Haryana in-charge Vivek Bansal that a show cause notice should be issued to Bhupinder Hooda for meeting Ghulam Nabi Azad, days after he left the party.

She has demanded that a show cause notice should be issued to Bhupinder Hooda, as per sources, and has also sought an explanation about the meeting. Vivek Bansal has taken cognisance of the letter and will be forwarding it to the party high command. Kumari Selja in her letter stated that Ghulam Nabi Azad has been attacking the Congress leadership after his exit.

On Tuesday, three G23 dissidents, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda, Anand Sharma and former Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan met Ghulam Nabi Azad for the first time after the latter left the Congress party. The meeting of the Congress leaders has not gone down well with a few party leaders, as Ghulam Nabi Azad has hit out at Congress, including Rahul Gandhi. The Congress has also accused him of collaborating with the BJP.

Azad, who resigned from the party on August 26, is scheduled to reach Jammu on September 4. He has announced floating a new party beginning with Jammu and Kashmir where assembly polls are due. Ghulam Nabi Azad, former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, ended his five-decade association with the Congress, terming it “comprehensively destroyed” and lashed out at Rahul Gandhi for “demolishing” its entire consultative mechanism.
