Poll strategist Prashant Kishor met Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday, close on the heels of his talks with Sharad Pawar. This has led to speculation that he is trying to lobby for Pawar as the next President of India.
Poll strategist Prashant Kishor recently met Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The meeting came close on the heels of a series of talks that he held with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar. The meetings have now created a strong buzz in the political circles that Prashant Kishor is lobbying to get Sharad Pawar elected as the next President of India. Prashant Kishor met Sharad Pawar thrice since the West Bengal Assembly election results. One of these meetings at Sharad Pawar’s New Delhi residence was attended by a host of Opposition leaders.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
